Donations & Legacies
The Foundation has a long history of supporting education in Sheffield, as you can see from our 'History' page. The Foundation as it stands today has its origins in 1604, when Thomas Smith made his generous bequest of thirty pounds a year to pay for two 'sufficient learned men to teache and bringe up the young children' of Sheffield.
The grants we make are modest, but they make a real difference. If you are interested in supporting our work, either because you, or someone you know, has benefitted from a grant from us in the past, or simply because you believe in the work we do, you might consider making a financial contribution to the Foundation.
We would be happy to receive donations, and Gift Aid may be available which will increase the value to us. You might also consider leaving a legacy to the Foundation in your Will.
If you are interested in making a donation or leaving a legacy, please do contact us.
